Newsletter - November 2011 - Issue 07
This is the seventh newsletter from the league for 2011! Missed all the others click here!
Well, what a season with a battle to the last game or playoffs for several sections! I think a special mention should go to:
- John Simmons for 201 dolls scored!
- NORTH STAR who managed to get 3 teams in the trophies!
- Martin Sheridan who won the Singles Championship for the sixth time!
- Both John and Martin scored the most 6's too!
Presentation Night went well and you can view the photos on the website. As Martin Sheridan wasn't able to be at the ceremony a special photo shoot was done at the Winter League when he was presented with a special trophy commemorating his 6th Singles Title.
Finals night was a great night too with several games going to 3 sticks for decision. I also experimented with my new phone and videoed a few of the matches (with commentary!). Quality isn't brilliant but it was transmitting live to the internet at the time! You can see the recordings here: http://www.ustream.tv/channel/paulmjstone. I also caught Chairman Barguss' kind words to Martin Sheridan when he presented the Singles trophy.
The Anchorman is available online and has just done a piece on getting an 18! Don't forget you can comment on any of the topics online and I know he's happy to receive any suggestions (for topics) via his email anchorman86@yahoo.co.uk
The Winter League is underway and if you're missing Aunt Sally why not come along and watch a couple of games, enjoy a cheap pint, have a go on the Football Card and buy one of Tosh's delicious rolls* available in three flavours (all of which support the funds). If the Aunt Sally's not good there's usually a footy match on the tv!
*Tosh doesn't make them, Sue does so they are ok!
AUNT SALLY ON TV! - Still no news of dates - when I know you'll know!
AGM will be on 23rd January so if you want to change any of the rules you need to propose it, in writing before the AGM! Simples! Now even simpler with the new ONLINE FORM.
DON'T FORGET.....
You know it's good when you hear the wood!
Get your team to sign up to the newsletter! Forward this to your Aunt Sally team mates! We've got 100+ people signed up (and that includes the committee!) - over 800 people played the game this year - pass it on as the Newsletter is the easiest, quickest and cheapest way for us to stay in touch.
Do you want us to stay in touch any other way? Is Twitter good for you? Would a text message be better? Would you want to text your scores in? How do you feel about entering your scores online on the website? Give me your views....
